HOW LONG DOES THE AROMA LAST?
This will vary from stone to stone and the essential oil you use, but the aroma on your lava stone can last anywhere from a couple hours up to a full day! Allowing the oils to soak in after you have rubbed the oil on will also give you better results. Scent will always be the strongest at first. Some oils omit a strong aroma, where as others do not - we recommend a citrus and/or peppermint oil for a long lasting invigorating aroma! Styles featuring larger and multiple stones will hold more oils, thus having a potentially stronger and longer lasting aroma.
Essential oils applied to raw rosewood will exhibit a much longer lasting aroma. To switch up the scent of aromatherapy on your rosewood beads we recommend applying a complimentary essential oil to layer on any scent that may still be present.

We work closely with our manufacturers to offer high quality natural lava beads, including completely custom sizes not available anywhere else. We also do not use popular synthetic or dyed stones, that are also heavily processed and waxy. Each lava stone is unique and has naturally formed voids. The color of our lava stones will naturally vary from charcoal to nearly black and may slightly lighten or darken with use of essential oils. Variations in our batches of lava can be seen in the photo below.
Though they may look heavy, they are extremely lightweight. Since nature seldom repeats itself, and due to the natural nature of each stone, plus each piece being handcrafted, please expect some variations. Though all photos are "stock" unless noted otherwise in the listing, we tediously and carefully hand pick each lava stone used on our jewelry. Our stones are sourced from several suppliers located in the US and East Asia. **We do not source our stones from Hawaii.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY JEWELRY?
A good rule for any jewelry is - Last on, First off! Please only apply essential oils to the lava beads. If you happen to get any on your chain or elsewhere we recommend wiping clean. Avoid wearing your jewelry while showering, sleeping, swimming, and exercising. Minimize your jewelry's exposure to any chemicals, such as: lotions, oil blends, hairspray, etc. We also recommend storing your jewelry in a dry environment to avoid oxidation, especially if your piece features Sterling Silver. (Bathrooms are not an ideal location to store jewelry.)
Brass can darken or patina over time, especially when not cared for properly, but can be polished back to its original gold tone! Tarnished Sterling Silver jewelry can also be polished. We recommend using the Sunshine Polishing Cloth.

WILL THE OILS STAIN MY CLOTHES?
OLANI is not responsible for the type of essential oils you use or for how you use them. We do, however, recommend using 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils as they should not stain your clothes when applied as recommended. They will also deliver the most beneficial aromatic experience.
DO YOU SELL ESSENTIAL OILS TOO?
We do not sell essential oils, or include them with any orders. With so many brands available, we prefer customers use the brand of oils that they have researched themselves and have come to know and love.
